Vytautas Lukočius born 1975 was graduated from M.K. Čiurlionis Art Gymnasium in 1993 with two specializations in piano and choir conducting. After that he began studies at Lithuanian Academy of Music. In 1999 he was graduate from there with master diploma‘s as a piano-soloist (Prof. Jurgis Karnavičius), and in year 2000 as an orchestra conductor (Prof. Gintaras Rinkevičius). In year 1999 V. Lukočius entered conducting class in the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki. In year 2002 he made diploma there. His teachers where: Prof. Leif Segerstam, Jorma Panula and Atso Almila. In year 2003 he made Post-Graduate studies at Lithuanian Academy of Music.


  He became a second prize winner in the competition for young conductors, which took place in Vilnius in 1991. In 1998 he took part in competition for vocal accompanists in Vilnius and got the first prize. In 2006 III Jorma Panula international conducting competition (Finland) he was I prize winner.
 
From year 2000 till 2004 he was assistant chief conductor at Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra. From autumn 2004 he is conductor of Lithuanian chamber orchestra.


At Lithuanian Opera and Ballet Theater he rehearsed and performed B. Britten’s opera – “Let’s make an Opera”, G.Verdi „Un ballo in maschera“, „Aida“, „Otello“, „Simon Boccanegra“, „La Traviata“, R.Wagner „Parsifal“, R.Leoncovallo „Pagliacci“. In Kotka theater V. Lukočius conducted P. Abraham operetta „Viktoria und Ihr Husar“. He conducted performances with Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra, Lithuanian National Opera, St.Christopher Chamber Orchestra, Kaunas Symphony Orchestra, Oslo Radio Orchestra, Turku Symphony Orchestra, Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra, Sibelius Academy Symphony Orchestra, Kymi Sinfonietta and Pori Sinfonietta, Olsztyn Philharmonics (Poland).

  He had concerts with such soloists: Alexander Paley, Petras Geniušas, Antti Siirala, Martin Fröst, Gidon Kremer, Arabella Steinbacher, Raimo Sirkia, Jyrki Anttila, Seppo Ruohonen, Mika Pohjonen, Kalev Kuljus, Bart Schneemann, Atle Sponberg, Lilli Paasikivi, Olga Kondina, Kaisa Ranta, Igor Lazko, Tamaki Kawakubo, Vardan Mamikonian, Denis Shapovalov, Pedro Carneiro, Tine Thing Helseth, Jukka Merjanen, Virgilijus Noreika, Irena Milkevičiūtė, Algirdas Janutas, Inesa Linaburgytė, Edgaras Montvidas and etc.
