Vega Maščinskaitė was born in 1971 in Kaunas. In 1991, she graduated (cum laude) from the Kaunas Juozas Gruodis Conservatoire, where she studied singing under Gerutė Stračkaitytė. She then went on to study with Professor Irena Milkevičiūtė at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, from which she graduated in 1998.
