Rūta Rinkevičiūtė was born in Vilnius (Lithuania) in a family of musicians: her father Gintaras Rinkevičius is the art director of the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra and its chief conductor; her mother is a choir conductor.
When she was 13 Rūta debuted with the Lithuanain State Symphony Orchestra.


In 2002 the pianist finished the M. K. Čiurlionis School of Arts (where she studied piano with Petras Geniušas). In 2007 she graduated from the Moscow P. I. Tchaikovsky Conservatoire and currently is studying for the licenciate in music at this Conservatoire (with Xenia Knorr).


R. Rinkevičiūtė is a laureate of international piano competitions in Greece (Konzerteum of City Makropoulon, 1999) and Italy (2000).
The soloist has been giving concerts with various symphony orchestras in Lithuania and abroad, participating in festivals and music forums. Her repertoire includes opuses for piano solo and with orchestra by J. Haydn, E. Grieg, F. Chopin, P. Tchaikovsky, F. Mendelssohn, S. Rakhmaninov and S. Prokofiev.
