Karolina Juodelytė was born in Vilnius. In 2008 she graduated from the National M. K. Čiurlionis School of Art where she studied Choral Conducting and later Musicology (under Dr. Vytautė Markeliūnienė). In 2003 she began studying Organ with Vida Prekerytė. From 2008-2012 she studied Organ with Dr. Gediminas Kviklys and Musicology with Dr. Jonas Vilimas at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre. From 2010-2011 Karolina studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna (Austria), on the Erasmus Programme, with Prof. Roman Summereder and and at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki (Finland) with Prof. Kari Jussila with the Nordplus programme. In 2012-2014 she studied Organ (Master of Music Solist) at the Academy of Music in Detmold (Germany) with Prof. Dr. Martin Sander and at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre with Prof. Virginija Survilaitė. Since 2014 she has been continuing her studies in the Solo Class (Konzertexamen) under Prof. Dr. Martin Sander and Church Music (Organ Improvisation with Prof. Tomasz Adam Nowak; Orchestral and Choral Conducting with Prof. Karl-Heinz Bloemeke and Florian Lohmann).
National and International Competitions:
• 2006: 3rd Prize at the National J. Žukas Young Organists Competition.
• 2010: J. Naujalis Competition for Young Organists (1st prize).
• In 2011: 1st prize in the International M. K. Čiurlionis Organ Competition, five special prizes (for the best performance of M. K. Čiurlionis‘ pieces; for the best performance of M. K. Čiurlionis‘ Fugue in B flat minor; for creative interpretation of contemporary music; for the most artistic performance; for the youngest finalist) and two recital awards (concert at the Lithuanian National Philharmonic Society and at the Christopher Summer Festival).
• 2012: 3rd prize in the International L. Janacek organ competition in Brno (Czech Republic).
• 2014: Laureate in the Alumni/AStA Interpretation Competition of Academy of Musik in Detmold.
• 2014: Special Prize for the best second round in the Petr Eben International Organ Competition in Opava (Czech Republic).
• 2015: 2nd prize and special prize for the best interpretation of J.P.Sweelinck composition in the 9th International J.P.Sweelinck Organ Competition in Gdansk (Poland).
Karolina Juodelytė has attended organ masterclasses with, among others, G. Bovet, J. Tůma, H. Lucke, D. Tagliente, T. Jellema, S. Cherepanov, H.O. Ericson, M. Radulescu, D.Roth. She has performed as a soloist in various concerts, national and international festivals in Lithuania, Austria, Poland, Finland, Germany, Russia and the Czech Republic. She also regularly performs as a member of chamber ensembles and orchestras. In 2012 and 2013 she gained an honourable mention from the Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaitė and from the Chairman of Lithuanian Parliament Irena Degutienė. In 2013 she received a scholarship from the DAAD, in 2014 – from Academy of Music in Detmold. Recently she receive a scholarship from the A. Toepfer Foundation (Concerto Musikstipendium).
