Jurgis Juozapaitis graduated from the National M. K. Čiurlionis Art School in 2005 and entered the viola class of Prof. P. Radzevičius at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre. Completing his bachelor degree tudies in 2009, and master studies in 2011 at the Academy, he completed a doctoral degree in the arts at Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre by Prof. J. Kaliūnaitė and Prof. P. Radzevičius in 2015. In 2006-2007 he was a residential scholar at the National Paris Conservatory of Music and Dance (Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris) in Prof. P. H. Xuereb viola class and A. Meunier, the chamber ensemble class.
The viola player often performs in concerts as a soloist and chamber music performer. As a soloist he has performed with the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, „New Era“ Chamber Orchestra (Ukraine), Lithuanian Music and Theatre Student Symphony Orchestra, the Čiurlionis String Quartet. He is member of Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra and trio “Claviola”. Lithuanian composers music takes important part of Jurgis‘ concert activity – he is the first performer of works by J. Andrejevas, O. Balakauskas, V. Germanavičius, U. Giedraitytė, J. Juozapaitis, J. Jurkūnas, A. Kubiliūnas, R. Mačiliūnaitė, A. Maslekovas, A. Mikoliūnas, M. Natalevičius.
Jurgis Juozapaitis has participated in numerous master classes of the viola and chamber music by prof. G. Hamann, S. Devich, R. Baldini, H. Kefer, J. Kluson, P. Schuhmayer, A. Kouyoumdjian, H. Beyerle, E. Epshtein, A. Keller, J. Meissl, P. Prause, J. Talich, W. Kloss, etc. He also has been awarded 15 various national and international competition laureate diplomas: the International M. Elskij viola competition in Minsk, Prize II(2007), International Val Tidone Chamber Music Competition in Italy, Prize II(2010), in the 38th international chamber music competition „Lyceum Club International de Suisse“ in Switzerland became the finalist and won special prize, the 19th international European chamber music competition in Illzach, France, Prize I (2015).
2011, 2012 and 2014 he recieved Lithuanian President D. Grybauskaitė‘s Letter of Thanks, in 2012 and 2014 – the Young Music Performers‘ Prize initiated by the Lithuanian Ministry of Culture.
