Irena Uss-Armonienė graduated with honours from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater, Prof.J.Karnavicius’s class. In 1986-1988 she lectured piano at the National Institute of Music in Algeria (L’Institut National de Musique d’Algérie). From 1988 she has been teaching piano accompaniment at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater. She has been a Professor  from 2007, and from 2010 she has been the Chair of the Piano accompaniment department.

Irena Uss-Armonienė is a well known pianist in Lithuania, a performer of chamber music, and an accompanist. She has given many concerts in Austria, Germany, Netherlands, France, Finland, France, Poland, Czech Republic, Sweden, Algeria and SNG countries. She has performed with famous Lithuanian performers – vocalists and instrumentalists. She is a member of the Armonas Trio, and the Armonas-Uss Duo. On the 3rd of October 2003, the Armonas Trio gave a concert in the Great Hall of the Lithuanian National Philharmonic, which was broadcast by Euroradio to 17 countries.

Irena Uss-Armonienė has played with the Lithuanian National, Kaunas symphony, and Kaunas  Chamber orchestras, under the baton of J. Domarkas, M. Barkauskas (Lithuania); P. Berman (Italy). She has also played with the Vilnius State String Quartet; participated in classical and contemporary music festivals in Lithuania, Russia, Germany; the M. Rostropovich festival in Kronberg (1997). She has accompanied for Lithuanian cellists at many international competitions, among them in Liezen (Austria), W.Lutoslawski Competition (Poland), A.Navarra Cello Competition (France), P.Casals competition (Germany), Cello Competitions in Tbilisi (Georgien) and Minsk (Belorussia). She has led master courses and seminars for the Lied interpretation in Groningen (Netherlands, 2001), Minsk (Belorussia, 2003 and 2004), Malmoe (Sweden 2004, 2006), Mannheim (Germany 2006, 2008, 2008,2011), Lyon (France 2010), Poland (Wroclaw 2014, Krakow 2015), European Liedforum 2012, 2014 Berlin, and European Liedforum 2013 Vilnius.

Irena Uss-Armonienė has edited and premiered 50 works by  contemporary  composers of many countries. Many of them were recorded for Lithuanian and foreign radio stations. Many of her recordings are released on CDs.
