The pianist Indrė Petrauskaitė studied at Kaunas J. Naujalis Art Gymnasium with Birute Kumpikiene. While still at school, she gave solo and chamber music recitals and performed with the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra; in 1993, she won the third prize at the Stasys Vainiūnas International Piano Competition (Lithuania). In 1995 Indrė Petrauskaitė entered the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre where she studied with Prof. Veronika Vitaitė. She participated in many international piano competitions with success: second prize in Senigalia International Piano Competition (Italy), third prize in Liudmila-Knezkova Hussey International Piano Competition (Canada), Grand Prix at Alternativa 97 (Latvia); in 1999, third prize at the International M.K.Čiurlionis Piano and Organ Competition (Lithuania). She is regularly performing with the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, Lithuanian State Symphony and Lithuanian Chamber orchestras. Some of the most memorable performances include playing in honour of the Norwegian Royal family and in 1998 in Vilnius Conference performing a concerto by F. Chopin at the presence of presidents of twelve European countries. In 1998 under the baton of Helmuth Rilling she performed with the Stuttgart Bach-Akademie Youth Orchestra in Vilnius, Riga and St.Petersburg Philharmonic Halls.
In 2000, Indrė Petrauskaitė finished her graduate and postgraduate studies at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre and was awarded the Masters diploma. The same year she entered Royal Academy of Music, London, where she studied with Prof. Christopher Elton. Indrė Petrauskaitė completed Postgraduate Course and Master’s Course both with DipRAM. She has given solo and chamber music recitals in St. Martin in the Fields, performed with the London Soloists orchestra and Royal Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra; she also performed in the Santander Festival in Spain. Since 2000 she has collaborated with the Vilnius String Quartet. During her studies in London, the pianist participated in master classes of such musicians as Alexander Satz, Michael Roll, John O’Conor, Ferenc Rados, Robert Levin, Boris Berman, Emanuel Krasovsky, Leif Ove Andsnes, and Paul Lewis.
