Egidijus Dauskurdis studied singing at the Lithuanian National Academy of Music and Theatre, in the class of Vytautas Juozapaitis (graduated in 2003). In 2001, he debuted in the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre, performing as a priest in The Seven Deadly Sins by Kurt Weill. He also performed several roles in the opera study of the academy - Figaro in W. A. Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro and The King in S. Prokofiev’s The Love for Three Oranges.

In 2002 he was a laureate in the singing contest of Stasys Baras. He has worked together with the Klaipėda State Musical Theatre, performing as Sir John Falstaff in Otto Nicolai’s The Merry Wives of Windsor and Sparafucile in G. Verdi’s Rigoletto. He has been a solist at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre since 2004, where he performed as Surin in P. Tchaikovsky’s The Queen of Spades, Leporello in W. A. Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Samuel in G. Verdi’s Un ballo in maschera, reprised his role as Sparafucile, Daland in R. Wagner’s The Flying Dutchman, Zuniga in G. Bizet’s Carmen, The Bonze in G. Puccini’s Madama Butterfly,  a priest in W. A. Mozart’s The Magic Flute, Nazarene in R. Strauss’s Salome, Dr Dulcamara in G. Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore, Hunding in R. Wagner’s The Valkyrie and others.

His work was recognized in the annual Operos Švyturiai awards - the soloist was named the newcomer of the year. E. Dauskurdis also performs large symphony pieces: W. A. Mozart’s Coronation Mass, J. Haydn’s Christmas Mass, F. Schubert’s mass in C-major, S. Moniuszko’s Gate of Dawn litany.

In 2004 he participated in the Opera Island summer academy in Kristiansand, Norway, where he performed as Dr. Grenvil in G. Verdi’s opera La Traviata (production by Jonathan Miller, conducted by Marc Soustrot).
