Domas Juškys was born on 6 February 1984 in Vilnius. He began playing the violin at the age of seven at the Druskininkai Music School. One year later, he won his first award at the Druskininkai Region Festival. Next year he was awarded a diploma at the 9th Balys Dvarionas National Competition and later took first places at two regional competitions.

In 1998, at the invitation of the violin teacher Beata Šmidtienė, he entered the Čiurlionis National School of Arts to study with Professor Audronė Vainiūnaitė. While at school, he three times played solo with the school chamber orchestra and twice with the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, under the direction of Saulius Sondeckis and Juozas Domarkas; became a winner of the Raimundas Katilius National Violin Competition; and attended master classes in Lithuania and Germany.

In 2003, Juškys entered the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre to study with Martynas Švėgžda von Bekker. In 2004, he was awarded first prize at the Concours International de Cordes de Gérardmer-Kichompré in France. Later that year he appeared with the student orchestra of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre conducted by Robertas Šervenikas.

Since April 2005, Juškys has been studying under Professor Stephan Picard at the Hanns Eisler High Music School in Berlin. By winning a contest, he won the right to play a violin made by the German violin maker Jens Peter Schade.

In 2006, as a member of a chamber ensemble, Juškys won the Grand Prix at the Muzika be Sienų (Music without Limits) Chamber Music Festival/Competition in Druskininkai and played Ravel’s Tzigane with the Lithuanian Youth Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Robertas Šervenikas at the Alternatyva (Alternative) festival.

Juškys has attended master classes by Bron, Marcovici, Pomeranz, Shvolkovski, Munteanu,  Stulgyte-Schmalenberg, Švėgžda von Bekker, Fain and Kaplan and has participated in seminars led by Daniel Barenboim, Zubin Mehta, Sir Simon Rattle and Sir Roger Norrington. As a chamber musician, he has performed with Silvia Marcovici, Paul Neubauer, Lu Lin, Indrė Baikštytė and Vashti Mimosa Hunter. He has given solo and chamber music concerts in Lithuania, Germany, Switzerland, France, Italy, Spain and Great Britain.

Juškys also writes music. In 2002, his composition for chamber ensemble was performed in Neuhardenberg, Germany, in front of the celebrated Polish composer and conductor Krzysztof Penderecki, and his symphonic work Encore was twice (in February and October of 2003) performed in Lithuania by the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Mindaugas Piečaitis.
