Darius Dikšaitis was born in 1973, Vilnius. In 1980–1991 he studied violin at the National M. K. Čiurlionis School of Arts under teachers E. Armonienė andI.Armonaitė.

In 1991–1997 he studied at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre (LMTA) under lecturer Ingrida Armonaitė and Prof. Raimundas Katilius. In 1997 he attended training courses in Austria, University of Music and Dramatic Arts, Graz, under Prof. Yair Kless. In 1998–2000 he studied for art licenciate at LAMT under Prof. Raimundas Katilius.

While still a student, Dikšaitis participated at the Rodolf Lipizer International Violin Competition (Italy, Gorizia) where he won the fifth prize and the prize for the best interpretation of a sonata.

Since 1996 the violinist is a member of the M. K. Čiurlionis Quartet. In 1998 he gave his first recital at the Lithuanian National Philharmonic.
As a soloist he has performed together with Lithuanian State Symphony, Lithuanian National Symphony, Lithuanian Chamber, Klaipėda Chamber, Panevėžys Chamber Orchestras.

In 2001 Dikšaitis participated at the International Heino Eller Violin Competition in Estonia, Tallinn, where he won the prize for the best interpretation of an opus by an Estonian composer.

Darius Dikšaitis enjoys playing chamber music. He has performed together with harpists Laura Stephenson and Florence Sitruk, clarinettist Antanas Taločka, pianists Eugenijus Žarskus, Eglė Vosyliūtė, Gytis Cinauskas, Leonidas Dorfmanas, Rūta Mikelaitytė, cellist Mindaugas Bačkus, violinists Jonas Tankevičius and Inga Gylytė, violist Gediminas Dačinskas, clavichordist Giedrė Lukšaitė-Mrazkova, singer Vilma Pigagaitė and flutist Valentinas Gelgotas.
He has recorded opuses by J. S. Bach, S. Prokofiev, N. Paganini for the Lithuanian National Radio.

Since 2000 he has been playing with the violin that used to belong to the primarius of the Lithuanian Quartet, Prof. E. Paulauskas.
