Dalia Šakenytė studied at Balys Dvarionas Ten Years Music School (with the teacher N.Radzevičienėe) and M.K.Čiurlionis Art Gymnasium (with the teacher L.Jakniūnienė). Later she graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Music where she studied piano with Prof. M.Azizbekova and organ with Doc. V.Survilaitė. In 1998-1999 she attended Malmo Academy of Music (Lund University, Sweden), supervised by Prof. H.Hellsten.


She attended organ master classes of G.Bovet (Switzerland), A.Paganel (France), Jos van der Koi (Holland), Z.Szatmary (Hungary), Hans-Ola Ericsson (Sweden), J.Hamilton (JAV), N.Allcoat (England) and other well known organists in France, Austria, Sweden and Germany.
In 1999 at the International M.K.Čiurlionis Piano and Organ Competition D.Šakenytė was awarded a diploma and the special prize of the Lithuanian Musicians Union for the best Lithuanian performer.


While still a student Šakenytė was giving concerts both as an organist and a pianist in Lithuania, Latvia, Russia, Sweden, England, Germany and USA. In recent years she is constantly being invited to perform in Lithuanian churches and concert halls; she has participated several times at the Great Musicians’ Parade organized by the Lithuanian Musicians Union, as well as St. Christopher Summer Festival.


D.Šakenytė has given concerts together with the Lithuanian National Symphony and Malmo Symphony Orchestras.
D.Šakenytė has gained huge experience as a concertmaster by participating in various international festivals, competitions and concerts (Germany, Poland, Belgium, Holland, Hungary, Italy, Slovenia and Switzerland) together with the choir of Vilnius Pedagogical University Ave vita (led by K.Barisas), the boys’ choir Sakalėlis (led by M.Viesulienė) and B.Dvarionas Ten Year Music School Pupils’ Choir (led by V.Katinienė).


In summer 2003 D.Šakenytė was invited to the MasterWorks festival in Winona Lake (USA, Indiana) organized by the Christian Performing Artists Fellowship. There she performed successfully both as a pianist and as a participant of various chamber ensembles; she also attended master classes for pianists and chamber ensembles held by Eugene Alcalay, Roslyn Langlois, Lori Rhoden, Daniel Horn, Hugh Sung, Lisa Emenheiser and Larry Dutton.


Since 1997 Dalia has joined the activities of the International Christian Musicians Society Crescendo; she participates in various conferences, concerts and other events and projects organized by Crescendo both in Lithuania and abroad. Currently she is one of the leaders of this society in Lithuania together with Margarita Viesulienė, Audrone Jurkėnaitė and Elžbieta Lazauskytė.
