The soloist of the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre Audrius Rubežius (b. 1966) graduated from Klaipėda's Šimkus conservatory, where he studied theory of music and composition. Here he got the first lessons of professional singing with Prof. O.Totorienė. In 1984 he won the second prize in the National Young Singers Competition. After the conservatory, he continued his vocal studies at Lithuanian Academy of Music with Prof. Virgilijus Noreika.

In 1996 he won two first prizes in two national competitions - K.Banaitis Singers Competition and B.Grincevičiūtė Chamber Singing Competition. In 1997 A.Rubežius received "Christopher" (a prestigious prize established by the Lithuanian Theatre and Cinema Association) for the Belmonte's role in W.A.Mozart's "Die Enfuhrung aus dem Serail".

At present time the repertoire of Audrius Rubežius includes Don Otavio in Mozart's "Don Giovanni", Naraboth and I Jude in R.Strauss "Salome", Pong in Puccini's "Turandot", Don Jose in G.Bizet's "Carmen", Gherman and Chekalinsky in the P.Tchaikovsky's "The Queen of Spades" (Pikovaya dama), Siegmund in Wagner's "Die Walkure", etc.
